EpoxySystems' Product #41

Silane Penetrating Sealer

DESCRIPTION

EPOXYSYSTEMS’ PRODUCT #41 Silane/Siloxane Penetrating Sealer is a one (1) component sealer that provides excellent protection to concrete and most structurally clean and sound alkaline substrates, against attack from wet/dry, freeze/ thaw cycles, and de-icing chemicals. EPOXYSYSTEMS’ PRODUCT #41 provides a hydrophobic "water-shedding" effect to masonry surfaces. EPOXYSYSTEMS’ PRODUCT #41 is a penetrating sealer that is repellent to liquid water but permeable to water vapor: a "breathable" coating.

USE

EPOXYSYSTEMS’ PRODUCT #41 can be used for sealing bridge decks, parking garages, parapet walls, roadways, brick work (clay and lime sand), timber wood and mortar.

COVERAGE

Apply at maximum 200 square feet/gallon to achieve results of NCHRP Report #244. If two (2) applications are required, second (2nd) coat may be applied immediately after first (1st) is fully absorbed.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Surfaces must be clean and sound. While some moisture present in the concrete or masonry will not affect the performance of EPOXYSYSTEMS’ PRODUCT #41, the drier the surface, the deeper the penetration. The maximum moisture content shall not exceed 5%.

APPLICATION:

EPOXYSYSTEMS’ PRODUCT #41 may be applied by spray (using hand-pumped pressure sprayer), brush, roller - or dipping of masonry units. For best results, use hand-pressure spray equipment instead of compressed air. Stir well before use with a low speed electric or air-driven drill - must be stirred vigorously before use. For best results on most masonry surfaces, two (2) applications are recommended. Dense new concrete surfaces may only require one (1) application.

LIMITATIONS:

Do not apply on or through standing water. Material is not intended to seal moving cracks from moisture

intrusion. EPOXYSYSTEMS’ PRODUCT #41 is not to be used to prevent leaks from hydrostatic pressure. Do not apply at surface

temperatures below 45oF, or when surface temperature is expected to fall below 45oF within four (4) hours

after application.

1. If possible, use total contents of container, once opened.

2. If material is to be stored after initial opening of container, be certain container is closed air tight.

CAUTION:

COMBUSTIBLE! Contains organic solvent. Avoid inhalation of vapor. In case of contact, immediately flush eyes or skin with plenty of water for at least fifteen (15) minutes. Call a physician in case of severe skin or eye irritation. Wash clothing before re-use. Discard contaminated shoes. Wear protective clothing, goggles, and/or barrier creams.
